Getting Started

How long does a neuropsychological evaluation take?

A complete evaluation generally takes between three and six hours to complete, depending on the complexity of the issues to be addressed by the evaluation and the individual’s condition (for example, fatigue, confusion, and motor slowing can extend the time required for an evaluation). Frequently, it is necessary to complete the evaluation over two or more sessions.

What does the evaluation involve?

An evaluation involves an interview, review of prior records, administration, scoring, and interpretation of tests. It also requires the psychologist to prepare a written report and meet with parents to review the results.
